On Wednesday, September 9, a nationwide 24-hour public transport strike will take place

From Wednesday, September 9 at 02:00 to Thursday, September 10 at 02:00, no buses, metros, or trams will be running in Amsterdam, and no ferries will be operating.

We understand that this has major consequences for many Amsterdammers. Many people depend on public transport to travel to work, school, a healthcare appointment, or another destination.

The strike could cause significant inconvenience, especially for residents of Amsterdam-Noord without a car who use the ferries across the IJ daily. Schiphol also warns of reduced accessibility and increased traffic congestion around the airport.
