King's Day promises to be another enjoyable, but also quite busy and chaotic day in Amsterdam and at our dispatch center. The festivities will once again result in reduced accessibility to the city center, so if you wish to use our taxi services, please check this page.

High demand due to public transport strike

Unfortunately, we are currently experiencing exceptionally high demand for taxis due to today’s public transport strike. Would you like to book or reserve a taxi for today? This is only possible by calling our dispatch centre on 020 – 777 7777 (7×7). You can still request a taxi, but we are currently unable to guarantee when one will become available. Due to the current situation, all journeys are charged according to the taxi meter. Fixed fares are temporarily unavailable. We are doing everything we can to transport everyone as quickly as possible!

King’s Day 2026

This map shows the accessible taxi stands. You can also order a TCA taxi via the TCA app or via WhatsApp (020-7×7).
PLEASE NOTE: the municipality has designated various locations where we can pick people up, so please provide a correct departure address outside the restricted area.

Need a taxi during King’s Day?

King’s Day promises to be another fun, but also quite busy and chaotic day in Amsterdam and at our dispatch center. To manage the crowds, the municipality has closed large parts of Amsterdam’s city center to car traffic on Sunday, April 27, between 07:00 and 21:00. This means that on this day, it will only be possible to order a taxi at specific locations.

Just a quick summary:

  • On the map you can see where the taxi stands are located outside that area.
  • The stands are divided between pick-up points and pre-booked taxis.
  • Despite our dispatch center being fully staffed, we unfortunately expect longer waiting times.
  • We are doing our best to assist you as quickly as possible.
  • We recommend that everyone use our app.
  • Or use our WhatsApp ordering option by texting the word taxi to 0207777777.

We wish everyone a great time!
