Circus director and entrepreneur Oscar Carré opened the doors of his majestic theatre on the Amstel in 1887. From comedy to concerts and from theatre to musicals, Royal Theatre Carré has something for everyone. National and international celebrities from the fields of circus, variety theatre and music have celebrated their greatest triumphs in Carré. As an independent theatre without a cultural subsidy, Carré proactively searches for opportunities and partners to realise the preservation and sustainability of Carré as a modern and innovative theatre.
