Need a taxi during King’s Day?

King’s Day promises to be another pleasant, but also quite busy and chaotic day in Amsterdam and at our headquarters.

In order to manage all the crowds in the right direction, the municipality of Amsterdam has closed large parts of the city center of Amsterdam to car traffic on Thursday 27 April between 05:00 and 20:00.

This means that it is only possible to order a taxi in certain places on this day.

The accessible locations are shown on the map below. Customers can also order a TCA taxi via the TCA app or via Whatsapp (020-7×7). Then enter a departure address outside the restricted area.

Keukenhof

Keukenhof, the best and most colourful day out! This spring, more than 7 million flower bulbs are in bloom – with up to 800 different types of tulips. A unique and unforgettable experience. In addition to the more than 32 hectares of flowers, you can enjoy spectacular flower shows, surprising inspiration gardens, unique works of art and great events. Don’t forget the Tulpomania exhibition in the Juliana Pavilion.

Theme

Flower Power is Keukenhof’s theme in 2019. Flowers inspire people. In Keukenhof, the flowers connect people from all over the world who are enjoying the tulips, scents and colours together. Holland is world-famous for its beautiful flower bulb fields and all the types of flowers that are grown there. With bright colours, hippies, peace & music, Flower Power stands for the atmosphere of the early 1970s. A beautiful theme to celebrate Keukenhof’s 70th birthday. Flower Power, the power of flowers!

Tulpomania

The story of the tulip is impressive. Bulbs that were worth their weight in gold, theft and a mountain dweller who feels at home in the Dutch climate. But there is also the story of the black tulip, and there are celebrities who got their own tulip. These stories can be found in the Tulpomania exhibition in the Juliana Pavilion. Baptise your own tulip, see how tulips are grown and get tips and advice from our experts on how to grow bulbs in your own garden.
